Not just a small town girl - Linn Maria is both influenced by her upbringing in a close knit, everybody knows-community and her break to the city life. As one of few music enthusiasts in her home town, her first impulses came from close family. With dad being a classic rock aficionado, mom an 80s pop lover and her grandfather playing blues with her on the lap from year 1, her musical inputs have been diverse since birth.
When her dad put on the «Best of Dolly Parton» album during a road trip, she found her very first idol. «Jolene» was sung religiously at karaoke bars from the age of six, until she discovered Taylors «Crazier» took over both through car rides and on stage. Road trips became a staple of musical first loves and deeply influences the feeling she wants to convey through her own music.
After struggling to choose direction for a few years, stopping by even jazz and opera, she finally landed back with what she knew growing up. In 2024 her best friend encouraged her to start writing again, and after the first session she knew it was right. The result of the very first session put the spark back in her old love for listening to, writing and performing (heavily guitar based) pop music.
